Mission Statement
To provide our government clients with bespoke training and consultancy services, utilising current and best practice training methodologies
About Us
Blackrole K9 was founded to provide bespoke K9 training and consultancy services to government organisations utilising working canines. Our trainers and consultants bring extensive operational experience and understand the challenges agencies face when establishing, expanding, and maintaining canine capability.
We work closely with organisations to assess current capability, identify gaps, and develop a clear pathway toward the desired operational end state. Our solutions include tailored training programs, operational frameworks, and evidence-based development models designed to strengthen safety, efficiency, and mission-readiness.
To enhance training outcomes, Blackrole K9 integrates reality-based training methodologies and clinical psychology support. This combined approach improves decision-making under pressure, strengthens resilience, and elevates overall human performance within operational K9 teams
The Specialist Team

The Blackrole team is led by Owner and Founder Marco O’Hehir, a former Australian Army Special Forces K9 handler and Tactical Police handler/trainer. Our specialist cadre includes former military and police K9 trainers, a senior clinical psychologist, and dedicated training support staff.
The team has played a pivotal role in establishing and enhancing government K9 programs, ensuring they meet the highest operational standards. The integration of clinical oversight within our reality-based training supports trainee wellbeing, enhances operational decision-making, and strengthens resilience in high-pressure environments
